One, I had before I started this blog and then the one I set up to create this blog. I know many people like to email you after you comment on their blogs...well, for quite a long time, no matter how I hold my mouth...I canNOT get into
the email attached to this blog. It doesn't matter if I reset my password or fast for seven days...it isn't letting me in.
With that said, if you care to email me, please do so here:
The great-nieces visited today!
Playing dress-up was on their mind and
a photo-session was on mine and their mom's.
How many hyphens can I use today? Ha!
Well, bible school starts for us tomorrow night.
I didn't sign up.
What I usually do though, is stick around and
fill in where needed...
usually with someone's crying child in my lap.
Parents tend to drop off kids who have never
laid eyes on us before and have no
clue where they are.
I have fun memories of bible school when I was little,
I remember riding to one in particular in the back of a neighbor's
(there I go with the hyphens again!)
I remember playing shuffleboard
(strange?! that church had it imprinted in their
fellowship hall on the floor)
and eating individual cups of ice cream
using a wooden spoon.
I remember singing, "Deep and Wide"
and gluing popsicle sticks together
to form a treasure chest.
I had big plans to put cold, hard cash in mine
and bury it in the backyard if only the
darn thing would stay together.
I wasn't saved during my bible school years but when
I was 14. Hopefully something other than the
crafts, snacks and games, helped form
my knowledge of God's saving power.
It is my prayer that the children who come
will find something eternal in what they learn.
Can you say heat and humidity?
and hours upon hours of rainfall?
I am holed up like a, like a...an animal
that is holed up!
I love me some air conditioning and fans
run a close second.
You know, when we think about summer
coming, we tend to think about pools, picnics and
sea cottages we don't have.
Oh, you don't?
That day-dreaming is going to get me in trouble one
of these years.
Summer is a sticky and itchy season that leaves me in want.
Speaking of the dog days!
Our dog, Maya has a puppy.
I'll leave that as a cliff-hanger
and hope you'll come back and see photos
and hear the story.
