Nashville, Tennessee

So, we celebrated our 19 year old and I made
a white box cake which I added almond and vanilla
extracts to, as well as white chocolate chips.
I used the store-bought icing and called it a birthday.
He wanted a Kindle and so it was.

Funny how I clean house as if royalty is coming
and it is my own messy boy, in from college.

Today I got out of dodge....headed to the metropolis of
Nashville and took note of city people and tried to act
like one.

You can buy gorgeous sheets of paper in the city.
It looks so much like wallpaper you want to coat your home in it.
(Paper Source)

You can consider fashions such as they don't have at home.
(Anthropologie)

You can sample any number of lotions and sprays in any
number of shops which give you that "layered effect" you've
read about in magazines.

But it's the scent on the drive home with your sunroof open
that gives you the big thrill.

The enormous buttercups (we call them buttercups) came
home with me and I know the blooms will soon be over.
I don't have this one in my yard, so it will be a nice addition.

White asparagus?
What's the point in that?
(Whole Foods)

 Have you been to Nashville?
Shops and restaurants aside....it is a most precious city.
Very welcoming and southern and diverse, I hope you
get to experience Nashville someday if you have not.
I feel refreshed!

Pretty paper! Is that a tulle skirt? I like tulle but where or when would I wear it? :)

I don't get the white asparagus either, we don't have a whole foods so I guess I shouldn't worry that I'll have to eat any.....

That birthday cake sounds yummy!

Nothing quite like a day out in the big city. I'll bet your cake was good and the birthday boy was happy. Love those blooms - they are shouting SPRING.

White asparagus always looks a little...wrong...to me. We have a paper store in a town near us and I always want totake every single sheet of paper home:>)
