This recipe came from Southern Lady
Nov/Dec '06 ~ I've had it torn out and save on
our refrigerator for over a year.
Today it came to fruition!
Can't wait to cut it and try it.
The bowl remains were delicious!
Crust:
1 1/2 cups chocolate wafer crumbs
1/4 c butter, melted
1/4 c sugar
*mix these and press into 9" springform pan
and refrigerate until filling is prepared.
Filling:
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 (14 oz) can sweet condensed milk
1 cup crushed hard peppermint candy
2 cups whipping cream, whipped
crushed peppermint sticks for garnish
*mix 1st three and fold in whipped cream.
Pour into crust and sprinkle crushed ppm
on top and freeze until serving.
optional:
Hot chocolate sauce:
1 cup (6 oz) semisweet choc. chips
1 stick butter
2 cups confectioners' sugar
1 (12 oz) can evap. milk
1 t vanilla extract
*melt the chips and butter in a saucepan
over low heat, stirring frequently.
Add the powdered sugar and evap. milk
and mix well. cook for 8 min. or until thickened,
stirring frequently. Stir in Vanilla.
Now that is a LOT of sauce and so I didn't even
make it. If you did, I think it would be used for
other purposes such as on ice cream.
Merry Christmas all!!!
