My Husband Sells Grass

I'm not talking about Mary Wanna either...this is a running joke with our OB doctor ...about my husband's shady occupation!

The bags he uses to store the farmer's fescue (grass that is...) is some kind of fiber...synthetic...Polly Esther (no kin to Mary Wanna whatsoever...).
Twenty-five years ago somebody he dealt with stacked him up with these burlap pieces and for some unknown reason...
he kept them :)
And I didn't know about them until this week when somebody said to me,
"Give these back to your husband, I borrowed them"

I have tons of *vintage* burlap with words on it!
DO wonders never cease???

I will be putting them up for sale at some point but first I want to give one away :)
I LOVE TO LAUGH and I don't want anything distasteful careful, okay?
Leave comments that will make me giggle and I'll award the burlap to the one that is the funniest!  (no pressure, right?)
If you have time...please tell also what you intend to do with the prize!

Good luck and Godspeed ;)

Well, they might be a bit itchy, but these will make GREAT lap blankets when the cold weather sets in... you know... that's why it's called "burrrr-lap"! lol

I'd like to "bag" one of those!
Yeah, I know, pitiful attempt, *sigh*
Anyways, I think I would make a lined bag out of one of these, or a table runner, cover a chair seat? You never know.

I would say Grassy Ass if I won one!

Ha ha, I love the efforts, and I am not supposed to things that hurt my incision.... ha ha......
Don't suppose you know any dirt on the best place to buy grass, do you? Sorry, that's really lame.....

Oh I forgot to say what I would do with the burlap bag....hmmmm..... use it to hold something in my sewing room, like batting! Even better, make the Dutchman a new pillow for the swing on the deck...oh no...that wouldn't be nice, too scratchy.....

These are fabulous!! I just discovered some feed sacks here that I am trying to figure out what to do with. I think a table runner would be great! Love these burlap ones!

I hafta' wonder; if your hubby sells grass and uses these in his business, somehow... won't he be sad (read; grrrrrr) if you start getting rid of 'em? I have a life-size image of my good hubby-buddy's reaction to me getting rid of Any of his toys. Grrrrrr would only be the start. (grr, right back at him.)

I'm totally enthralled with the burlap sacks. They sort of strike me as somethin' akin to a treadle sewing machine or a potato masher. No, there is no real similarity in design or purpose, but don't they all sorta' tug at your heart in the same way that Remembering the Good 'Ol Days does? Right there in the Hugging category with Rockin' my babies to sleep, you might say.

I dunno', maybe other folks don't really think of treadle sewing machines an' potato mashers as particularly good things (like babies 'n such), but those sorta' things give me a Warm, Fuzzy kinda' feelin'; like bein' hugged by a baby.

What would I do if I won? Why, put grass in it, of course! *grin*

I live in Berkeley so I guess I'd have to cut arm and head holes and wear it saying this is the LEGAL kind of grass, LOL!

They are priceless.

Oh my Dear,
You are quite entertaining...who knew that some "scratchy, itchy bag" would just show up out the blue {well, was dropped on your doorstep by some strange guy} and you would be able to make a few bucks, out of this STRANGE occurrence... I, on the other hand am doin' the "Happy Dance" if I find a quarter amongst the dryer my dear have hit the "Mother Load" on...Rosie

I would have a sack race of course. I remember those from church picnics. We would hop along, fall down get up hop some more. Giggling all the time. What simple fun!!!,,,,m,,

Well, since my twins would probably try to get ahold of it first for a sack race (before mom makes a bench cover) I'll leave you with words heard this week at my house.

DD#1 to one of the twins: "No, you can't watch that movie, Mom says it has too much innuendo."
Twin reply,"Oh, now I get it, there's a man in it who looks "inyouwindows".
I was in the background hearing this one at the time, and burst out laughing. Children do take everything literally don't they? :-) I think I'm going to have to put this one on a post.
