Bring on the Bountiful Harvest

 {Linking with http://iloveprettylittlethings.blogspot.com/ for Friday Pretties and http://romantichome.blogspot.com/ for Show and Tell Friday  }

Oh happy wooden tray of mine...
I can't wait to fill you once again...
with Autumn delights.
And tea lights.

I am no poet, but my favorite season
makes me wax eloquent...

I get misty over spotty apples grown, not purchased...and I remember the bellyfull of them I ate one year trying to get sick so I could miss school the next day (when all I really did was ward off something eating so healthy...as otherwise I'd surely have had a box of Hostess something-or-others...)

The dog days don't delight and I don't dig a midsummer's night.
A dream though?
YES :)

Like right now, I'm dreaming that I didn't break this wonderful ironstone bowl.
Oh yes I did.
And that I find more of these wonderful napkins...
I want to bathe with them.

Is your Autumn nest as delightful as your summer one?
Can I come see it?
*big toothy grin*

Welcome to Friday Pretties!!!
It is always so fun to see a new blog face. :) And, this post is SO pretty.
Personally, I am such a Summer Girl, but I do enjoy all of the coziness of Fall, and this post is so cozy.

Have a wonderful weekend,
Joyce

Pretty and tempting, but oh no Phyllis, I'm not ready to give up my sumer nights yet. Autumn is beautiful but too short lived and then...brrrr, I can't even think about it yet. I'm going to go give my flowers a hug!

We are still in the midst of the hotest summer on record so no autumn decorations here yet. Our corn is not even ready.
You have a very versatile tray.

Dear, dear Phyllis! I am so happy to have you come to find me, especially after such a SEARCH!!! Oh dear, you were not able to access entrance to my dream CASTLES CROWNS AND COTTAGES via Rosie's place? Oh dear, how inconvenient....but you kept up the search and VOILÀ....you got here safely. WOW! You ARE a poet! And I am with ya'......I love AUTUMN...everything it brings to me...return back to school as a fourth grade French teacher, the smell of wonderful things in the air, the clear, crisp air to BREATH and staying cozy with a pot of tea every evening. I LOVE your white laced napkins and yes, I would wrap myself in them as well.....you have lovely dreams dearest and keep on looking for the beauty in it all! OH, thank you for coming to visit with me....I do hope you come back and let us all hold hands in Rosie's circle of friendship....she puts on a nice kettle of hot water every morning for us, doesn't she! I also see that you have on your sidebar some lovely bloggers that I have known for a while, and some sweethearts whose acquaintance I have just made. I want to follow you, but for some strange reason when I go to join your blog, my husband's profile comes up...and I have already signed in!!! I will try again.

Thank you for your enthusiasm...what a wonderful virtue and gift of growing "young"!!!

Fondly, Anita

Such lovely pieces you have. And you have all of them so nicely arranged. Do not think you are not a poet. Poetry does not hafta' rhyme in order to create beauty in the mind's eye. Well done.

I haven't started thinking Autumn yet but now that you mention it I guess it isn't that far off is it? We usually have some of our best "summer months" by the Bay in Sept. and October tho.

A very pretty post. I love Autumn too. Here in the high desert, things really cool off, which is so nice. I love pulling out the Fall items, and snuggling up with a quilt. I enjoyed your spotty apple story, and loved that sweet tray. So sorry about your ironstone. I hope you find another one :-)
Blessings,
Marcia

Hi Phyllis, We just experienced some autumn--but it was not at home. George took me on a wonderful birthday trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive and Shenandoah Valley... WOW--how fabulous. Temps in the 70s in daytime and 50's at nights... It was wonderful...

BUT--we came home yesterday to the heat again... GADS!!!!

Hugs,
Betsy
