At Least At Our House...

Summertime in Kentucky...

means sweat...
iced tea with sugar and lemon...
some blooming thing to pluck out of the yard daily...
(Oak Leaf Hydrangea here)
watermelon slices...
yard sales...

Oscillating fans...
reunions...
and cousins...
naps...
sunburned shoulders...
the scent of coconut oil...

bored teenagers...
bright breezy clothing...
lots of picture taking...
day camps...
dirty feet...
mowing...
kittens and chickens...

...and DEEP meaningful thoughts~

Okay Phyllis:
I am 2nd in line oops maybe 3rd because Darla said she is before me too for next years crop of canned cherries : )
The chandelier by the resting cupid/statue's head is to die for.
I like the part about bare feet/dirty feet, the scent of coconut oil, Oscillating fans sounds like when I grew up : )
Take care
come over and see the grand abby as princess : )
hugs & peace

Summertime in Kentucky sounds pretty fabulous if you ask me.

Thanks for that link. I hadn't seen it.
They're debuting a new water fountain show here at the Disneyland resort and I've been all immersed in press events and writing about the show, so it's like there's no outside world for me at the moment. I get to breathe tomorrow.

Anyway, that story was pretty amazing. What are the chances that your future husband would be in the background of a childhood photo??? Amazing!

Enjoy that iced tea, sounds yummy!

I love it all. We set outside tonight by a candle burning in a bucket watching the lighting bugs and listening to the sounds of a peaceful night...m...

You mean someone somewhere is actually having summer weather? Not so much in Berkeley. Lucky you.

Love the quote!

Boy, did this get my "summer thing" going! Bring it on, baby!!! Love the photos!

And, I'm mad that as much as I reach, those cookies in your banner will not come to me!!! I'll just go to the Great Dane today and get me some Napoleon Hats dipped in chocolate. So there...

It sounds beautiful. After this week I can begin to relax a little and hopefully enjoy a bit of summer. My job at the school ends tomorrow (yay!)and even though I will be taking summer classes for my college degree, I hope I'll have a teeny bit more time to just enjoy the things that make summer so special.
