*Party for Cookie*

My friend Cookie is a treat!

It was time to surprise her and spoil her.
I invited her closest friends to my enchanted woods!
We took out lots of odd tables and chairs, then dressed them up.
I told Cookie a lie...I had found a wildflower garden and needed help identifying the flowers!
What a gullible girl!
Her best friends soon came out caroling the birthday song and then the surprise was out :)

Cookie loves the color Azure and we joke about it a lot :)

That is why I got the Pom from an etsy shop.
Everyone said I could have made it myself because Martha showed it on her website.
Now I know!

These almond cookies ,I made and they are very popular anytime I serve them!

I also made chocolate truffle cookies (will have to search for that recipe again!)
They are also very good. I've decided if the word "truffle" is in anything it is delicious!

Friend Jill made these stuffed strawberries.
The filling is cream cheese and powdered sugar.
She says to cut the green leafy bottoms off and then stand them up, cut an X in the tip and pipe in the filling :) Wonderful!!!

Let me just say this:
YOU cannot imagine how special this party was!
Oh, my!

’Twas the day of my birth, a fact I had let few people know
Hardly anyone acknowledged, and it suited me so!
The subtle plans had been made to mark the day
because my friend Phyl insisted on taking me away.
So I dressed up to follow the instructions for going to be fed,
with black and white checks from my toes to my head.
Taking time to drive and arriving at precisely the hour,
no sooner, no later or the pal indicated she would be dour!
Then out on her lawn she met me with chatter,
something about wildflowers which seemed like an important matter.
Around the house we walked not making a dash,
toward the grove of trees we walked not thinking of the possibility of a poison ivy rash.
The sun sparkled through the leaves with quite a show,
with the beauty of mid-day to ground cover below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
but wandering in the woods, gal pals who are so near and dear!
With moves that were lively and quick,
I knew in a moment, I had been tricked!
So they sang out and from behind the trees they came!
I squeeled and shouted and called them by name!
”It’s, Marcia! It’s Marilyn! It’s Leigh and Jilly!
It’s Stacey! It’s Pete! It’s Phyl and Janie!”
Come out from the hiding places I did call
”How you’ve surprised me and I’m going to have a ball!”
As the leaves overhead did fly,
the setting was so lovely all I could say was “oh, my!”
So up to the tables the chairs we drew,
as a bountiful meal was prepared to view.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
all the foods were marched in and were found.
The tables were all dressed in shabby chic
and the pals had been asked to bring their own seat.
The sumptuous food all artfully arranged and impeccably neat
There was a buffet that enticed appetites to be merry!
A beautiful pink salad from her hand-picked cherries!
Like the comfortable breeze that from the leaves did blow
There was laughter from the precious friends gathered below.
There were smiling faces and stories they were telling,
I laughed and guffawed like a bowlful of jelly.
They roasted me good and I deserved they say,
and I laughed some more at the silliness they know about my ways!
There was a twinkle in Phyl’s eye and a twist of her head,
they had a CJ trivia game and I was filled with dread,
So the pals listened carefully and went straight to work
To answer questions that made CJ smirk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
as prizes were awarded for all that each one knows!
And there was great relief when CJ ended up with no secrets exposed!
Soon thereafter the party was ending
and the party décor began descending.
It was heard as the celebrants began to take flight
calling birthday wishes as they disappeared out of sight.

Everybody should have some wonderful friends like mine!
I love ♥ them all!

What a beautiful party Phyllis! I love the idea of stuffing strawberries, I've never seen that done before. Are those peonies on your table? Those are some of my favorite flowers, they almost outshine the roses:>)

The party must have been a lot of fun.

I didn't know Cookie was a POET! She has great hair and she can rhyme. That must be why she's your special friend.

Happy Birthday Cookie!
