"Tornado Prom"

That is what my boy called prom night!
Things were pretty ominous as we drove to the place...
At first we thought it was pretty and I talked big about how I had peace...
but then it got uglier!
We had to pull over like other cars did and cozy up to a building for protection from the high winds and
HAIL!
As we listened to the radio saying a tornado was on the ground at the next exit off the interstate...

Here is the view from inside (once we finally got in there!!)
You can see the Cumberland River.

Here is my smart, talented, wonderful, good-looking 16 year-old in his first tuxedo :)

Oh, okay skies!
Yeah, just act like nothing was ever wrong...

*insert Louis Armstrong singing What a Wonderful World*

Edited to add this that I found on my homepage just now... Sandra Bullock (who I just love)...and her soon-to-be-ex...have adopted a baby boy!

The baby, called Louie, is named after jazz great Louis Armstrong, who had particularly touched Bullock with his signature song, "What a Wonderful World," she said. The child was born in New Orleans, a city where Bullock and James had both spent time after Katrina.

What a handsome fellow! Did you tear up, when he walked into the room? I did, the first time my son wore a tux. I think he was about the same age as your young man. Then, when I saw all of his friends, that he'd grown up with, all the scruffy soccer and baseball players, well it was a moment to remember. Seeing them all so grown up, and looking so nice. It sort of reinforced that whole community feeling. We came to love them all, over the years. Now, they're starting to come home from college, or headed off to war. It's an emotional time.

I would have loved the scary weather. I'm sort of weird that way. As long as no one gets hurt. I hate that part.

Take care,
Lena
